MILK KHOA / PALKOVA RECIPE
Milk Khoa / Palkova Recipe
Milk Khoa / Palkova is one of those comforting milk sweets enjoyed by all! The best part about this recipe is that it can be cooked within 8 – 12 minutes (depending upon the microwave power level) whereas the traditional method takes about 2 – 3 hours. For all those purists, who do not believe in this style, I promise to post the traditional method soon. Enjoy this easy version which is almost authentic in taste.
Milk powder – 2 cups
Fresh full cream – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Cardamom powder – a pinch
Saffron – 2 – 3 threads
Method
The time mentioned below depends on your microwave power level.
Take a big microwaveable bowl and mix well the milk powder, fresh cream and sugar without any lumps.
Close the microwaveable bowl with a lid and cook in the microwave for 3-4 minutes. Make sure the mixture does not overflow from the bowl.
Remove the bowl and stir the mixture and keep it in the microwave again with the lid closed for another 1-2 minutes.
Remove and stir again and keep it back in the microwave this time without closing the bowl for another 2 – 3 minutes.
Now remove, stir and check whether it has reached the milk khoa / palkova consistency. Now add cardamom powder and crush the saffron threads with your thumb by placing it on your hand and add it to the milk khoa / palkova.
The tasty milk khoa is ready for you to relish in less than 10 minutes.
